WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE ISD LIONS!

After-School-Activities (ASA) Programme at the International School of Düsseldorf

The ASA Programme's Mission

The primary goal of the After School Activities programme is to provide ISD students with training in various activities using English as the standard language for instruction. The programme encourages students to develop a healthy mind, body and attitude while fostering cultural understanding, fairness and respect for others. The ASA Programme welcomes all ISD students to participate. Most importantly, we encourage students to enjoy themselves and have fun.

Trial Lessons

Trial lessons will take place from the 23rd August until the 04th September.

Students will be able to participate in any of the activities on offer during this trial week. Schedules will be posted on the ASA notice board in the Commons Room,Elementary School cafeteria, SrS Café, SrS Gym and at the ISD Fields

For Students Wishing to Join the ASA Program After the Trial Period is Over

Registration Policy

Tuesday September 7th from 16:00 – 17:30 ES Cafeteria

Wednesday September 8th from 16:00 – 17:30 ES Cafeteria

Trial lessons and registration take place on the above listed dates only, or as stated on the schedules. In the event a course has more students wishing to participate than space available, names will be drawn from a hat. Registration forms can be downloaded from the website. Separate forms are required for each ASA participant.

Please ensure your child is punctual, attends regularly and that he or she conducts him or herself in an appropriate manner. Please also ensure your child brings any required equipment and/or materials.

If after registering, your child decides he or she no longer wishes to participate, you are required to give written notice to the instructor. Please do this as soon as possible as there may be students on a waiting-list who would appreciate the opportunity to fill this vacancy.

Equipment and Facilities

The ASA programme provides for sporting activities on an all inclusive, low cost basis for all registered ISD students. Although the ISD provides for the usage of some of its facilities and equipment for the ASA, in certain cases parents will also have to pay for off-campus facility usage or personal equipment eg. specialised clothing or protective gear. For more information on what your child may need or where he or she can obtain this equipment, please contact the instructor. Second-hand clothing or equipment may be advertised on the ASA bulletin-board. Please refrain from using the ASA bulletin-board as a venue for advertising items which do not concern the ASA-Programme or its students.

Fees

€60.00 per child per school year. Unlimited participation based on available space.

Changes and Cancellations

Although the instructors are required to notify the group of any foreseeable cancelations or changes of venue, it is the parent's responsibilty to check the ASA bulletin board in the commonsroom for any unexpected or last minute changes and cancellations.

Attendance Policies

Please note that the ASA-Programme offered by the ISD is not a baby-sitting service. Therefore unexcused absences may result in the termination of your child's ability to participate. Because some activities place limits on the number of students who may participate at one time, your child may have to re-register. This could result in your child being placed on a waiting-list.

Sibling Participation

Students' siblings who do not attend ISD may also participate in the ISD ASA Program. So that they may qualify to participate, you must read and sign a liability restriction form. Please request a copy from the activity's corresponding coach.
